Osei sets new national record

Ghana’s UK based weightlifter, Forrester Christopher Osei, won bronze and  set a new national record in the 94 KG body weight category at an English Weightlifting Championship held at Crystal Palace.

Prior to the English championship, Forrester’s national record was Snatch 132 KG, Jerk 170 KG and Total 302 KG, but he set a new national record of Snatch 140 KG, Jerk 170 KG and Total 315 KG which put him at third place to win bronze at the championship.

Forrester, together with other Ghanaian weightlifters, have stepped up their preparation to qualify for the forthcoming Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil.

Ghana’s weightlifters are making every effort to raise the flag of the country at this year’s Olympics and also make a mark, should they find themselves at the world sporting event slated  for August this year.
