Allotey displayed quickness, speed and the effective use of his legs to score points over his opponents throughout the two-day competition held to introduce the sport to the Ghanaian youth.

The diminutive 12-year-old  beat competitors who were older and much bigger than him to clinch  the mini- refrigerator and the trophy at stake.

Young Allotey, a pupil of Korle Gonno `4` JHS and trained by Joesph Ghartey would  also be taken to South Korea for further training and grooming in the sport .

Meanwhile, the president of the Norlympics Taekwondo Association, Norbert Amefu, has appealed for sponsorship  to enable the youngster to make it to South Korea.

In the female category, Anita Abbey of  St. Barnabas School at Osu in Accra won the  overall best competitor in category. She also  received a trophy, a table-top fridge and a medal.
