Taekwondo: Looking ahead with hope
This year’s “Korea Cup” Taekwondo Championship which is the flagship Taekwondo competition in Ghana climaxed the activities of the Ghana Taekwondo Federation.
The event has always been made possible through the co-operation between the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and the GTF.

This years championship, which came off in December, was graced by the new Korean Ambassador to Ghana Mr. Lyeo Woon-ki.
International co-operation
Through international cooperation, three persons were sent abroad by the federation to participate in special training programmes in April, 2014 in Switzerland.
Miss Harriet Agobah participated in the youth leadership programme organised by the United Nations Office on Sports for Development and Peace (UNOSDP) in Berlin, Germany in March this year while the federation in July and August also received taekwondo experts from the World Taekwondo Peace Corps, Korea, who were in Ghana to introduce and upgrade the skills of taekwondo practitioners in five regions across the country. The regions are Upper East, Brong Ahafo, Greater Accra, Eastern and Volta regions.
Participation in international championships
In the year 2014, Ghana participated in the following international championships including the US Open Taekwondo Championships in February, Africa Taekwondo Championships in Tunisia in May and the fifth World Para Taekwondo Championships in Moscow, Russia.
