Ghana’s Black Stars delivered another commanding performance in the CAF World Cup qualifiers tonight (March 24, 2025), defeating Madagascar 3-0 at the Grand Stade Al-Hoceima in Morocco.
The result cements Ghana’s position at the top of Group I with 15 points.
Coming off a dominant 5-0 victory over Chad, the Black Stars wasted no time asserting their authority.
Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey opened the scoring in the 11th minute, heading in a cross from captain Jordan Ayew’s free kick.

Despite creating further chances, Ghana was unable to extend their lead before halftime.
Madagascar gradually found their rhythm and created some promising opportunities, but the Black Stars' defence stood firm to maintain their advantage.
Ghana regained control early in the second half, and in the 54th minute, Partey struck again—this time converting another set-piece delivery from Ayew.

The Black Stars sealed the win just five minutes later when Partey turned provider, linking up with Ayew to set up Mohammed Kudus, who calmly slotted home Ghana’s third goal of the night.

With a comfortable lead, Ghana controlled possession and expertly managed the game to secure all three points.
With the victory, Ghana now leads Group I with 15 points, while Madagascar sits second with 10 points, followed by Mali in third place with nine points.
The Black Stars will look to maintain their fine form as they edge closer to securing qualification for the FIFA World Cup.
