Airtel partners two others to facilitate top up of shell fuel

Customers on the Airtel network, who have activated their Airtel Money account, can now top up their Shell Cards using Airtel Money.

This arrangement is in partnership with Zenith Bank (Ghana) Limited which has been mandated by Vivo Energy Ghana, the company that distributes and markets Shell products, to issue fuel cards to customers and act as a depository bank.

According to the Director in charge of Airtel Money at Airtel Ghana, Mr Luck Ochieng, “this arrangement is aimed at providing convenience to customers who buy Shell fuel and lubricants”.

“One of the main unique attributes of Airtel Money is its convenience. We aim at offering customers with an efficient alternative to cash transactions”, he added.

He further noted that the collaboration with Vivo Energy Ghana and Zenith Bank Ghana was one of many to be rolled out, “Airtel is always on the look-out for innovations that will bring comfort and convenience to customers”, he added.

The Corporate Communications Manager of Vivo Energy Ghana Limited, Madam Shirley Tony Kum, stated that the Personal Shell Card was launched in April 2013 to cater for the increasing demands of individuals for alternative means to cashless payment.

Since the launch, she said, there had been an overwhelming demand for Shell Cards from individuals and that Zenith Bank  had been one of the leading partners in driving that initiative.

The benefits of the Shell Card includes: cashless transactions, security of your cash if even the card is missing, convenience of payment, the use of PIN codes to authorise transactions among others.

The partnership with Airtel Money will simplify payment for top-ups on the Shell Card and further make payments convenient for the customer.
