The entrepreneur award adds to the multiple awards garnered by Medi Moses Prostate Centre.

Organised by the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana (EFG), the awards had the theme: “The Role of Entrepreneurship in Economic Growth and Private Sector Development.” It seeks to reward entrepreneurship excellence of individuals and institutions that distinguish themselves in the private sector and its growth.

In attendance were high-profile personalities, including the Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Ekwow Spio-Garbrah; the British High Commissioner, Jon Benjamin; the United States Ambassador, Mr Robert Proter Jackson; the Chinese Ambassador, Madam Sun Baohong; the Turkish Ambassador, Madam Nesrin Bayazit; the Ambassador of France, Francois Pujolas; the Nigerian High Commissioner and a host of   Ghanaian and foreign dignitaries.

According to the Founder of EFG, Mr Sam Ato Gaisie, the Ghana Entrepreneur Award Scheme was established to give Ghanaian and foreign resident entrepreneurs the opportunity to interact with one another using the foundation’s platform and thus increase their capacity for networking and entrepreneurial success.

The award is also to enhance awareness of the importance of entrepreneurship among the public and in turn stimulate the growth of local brands and enterprises to create more jobs.

Dr Spio-Garbrah, who was the guest of honour, congratulated the organisers for recognising the role of entrepreneurs and putting together an award scheme for them.

He said bureaucratic policies had impeded the growth of the private sector so  there must be an enabling environment for the institutions to operate smoothly.

In all 24 males and three females were recognised.
