Eastfield Foundation donates to BECE candidates again

Eastfield Foundation, the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of West Africa's biggest orange orchard, Eastfield Farms, has again extended its annual donation of mathematical sets to Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in its catchment districts in the Eastern region of Ghana.

Ahead of this year's BECE which commences on Monday, July 8 and ends on Monday, July 15, Eastfield Foundation, with its partner, Orange Growers Association (OGA), has presented a mathematical set to each candidates across five schools in its catchment districts to resource them to put up best performances in their first external examination.

The schools comprise Kotokuom D/A JHS and Kofi Nimo D/A JHS both in Akyemansa district, Kokroso D/A JHS and Oforikrom D/A JHS in Akim Swedru district and Siawkrom D/A JHS in Achiase district where Eastfield Farms is located.

Handing over the mathematical sets to the elated BECE candidates on behalf of Eastfield Foundation, farm manager of Eastfield Farms, Sam Dokyi, entreated the candidates to prepare very well and put the mathematical sets to good use during the examination so that they get good results and further their education to better contribute to the development of Ghana in the future.

Mr. Dokyi also encouraged staff and management of the schools for their dedication to shaping the students to give them a formidable foundation in life.

Students, staff and management members expressed their profound gratitude to Eastfield Foundation for the timely gesture and pledged to continue putting in their best to achieve impressive results.

The presentations were made to the schools from Thursday, July 4 to Friday, July 5, 2024.

Last year, four schools benefitted from mathematical sets and packs of oranges from Eastfield Foundation.

Since its establishment in 2020, Eastfield Foundation, with its partners, has rolled out corporate social responsibility (CSR) interventions targeted at schools in its catchment districts.

They include One Student, One Orange (Orange Wednesday) and Grow to Consume initiatives and supported the Government of Ghana's Green Ghana Day tree planting exercise with orange seedlings for schools.
