The year-long celebration on the theme: “25 Years of Dynamism, Resilience and Sustainable Growth”, will also chart a new path on how the company intends to grow with focus on safety and sustainability while meeting the evolving needs of its customers without compromising on quality.

Speaking at the anniversary launch in Accra, the Managing Director of EGL, Brent Nartey, said over the past 25 years, the company has distinguished itself as a trusted brand and the desired petroleum retailer and supply partner in Ghana.

“The Silver Jubilee is a celebration of the company’s collective successes, indomitable spirit and longevity.

It is a testament to our resolve to never compromise on service excellence, maintaining a clear focus on safety and sustainability while meeting the evolving needs and expectations of our customers without compromising on quality,” he said.

Commencing operations with just two iconic service stations in the Greater Accra Region: Adabraka and Tema, and at a time when there were less than 20 oil marketing companies (OMCs) operating in Ghana, he said the company had also evolved over the years, most importantly with the acquisition of Engen Ghana in 2019 by Mocoh Ghana.

 Going forward

He said with the opening of its 52nd service station in Ghana, the future looked promising, and Engen Ghana Ltd. was ready for what lay beyond the horizon.

“As the company looks forward to the next 25 years, it remains committed to investing in new technologies and exploring new opportunities. The company’s continued growth and success will be driven by its focus on innovation, agility, sustainability and continuing to deliver exceptional value and service to its customers,” Mr Nartey said.

Growth

A Deputy Minister of Energy, Herbert Krapah, commended the company for its growth over the years, adding that Ghana’s petroleum story is not complete without Engen Ghana Limited.

Since 1998, the company has grown from a few outlets to become one of the leading OMCs today.

Mr Krampa said the company had also grown its market share in the downstream market, and stayed true to its mission of delivering quality fuels, lubricants and logistics services with efficiency and operational excellence within a culture of innovation, safety and environmental consciousness.

He explained that last year, the petroleum industry contributed about 9.8 per cent to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) which was a significant increase from 7.2 per cent the preceding year.
