Entrepreneurs benefit from Youth Empowerment in Export Forum
SOME 50 young entrepreneurs from various sectors of the economy have undergone training to be equipped with the skills needed to excel in the global export market.
The training, under the Youth Empowerment in Export Forum, organised by the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) in collaboration with the Lions International, featured sessions on market entry strategies, export procedures and key export regulations.

The forum provided participants with invaluable insights and practical training on key aspects of exporting, aimed at equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to expand their businesses into international markets.
It also provided a platform for networking, enabling participants to connect with industry experts, potential partners and fellow entrepreneurs.
Participants in the forum included the Accra Omega Lions Club, the Tema Supreme Lions Club, the Accra Diamond Lions Club, the Tema Oak Lions Club and the Kumasi Royal Lions Club.
Youth in economic growth
Speaking at the event last Friday in Accra, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) of the GEPA, Albert Kassim Diwura, said the event underscored the importance of youth in driving Ghana’s economic growth and diversification through non-traditional exports.
According to him, the training demonstrated the GEPA’s commitment to fostering a vibrant, youth-led export community.
The District Governor for Lions International, District 418-Ghana, Dr Helena Asamoah-Hassan emphasized the significance of empowering the youth in Ghana’s export sector and commended the collaboration between Lions International and the GEPA for the provision of this vital platform.

She encouraged the participants to seize the opportunity to learn and grow, highlighting the importance of youth in driving economic progress and export diversification.
She said her outfit was committed to community service and empowering youth for sustainable development, adding that “the Youth Empowerment in Export Forum marks a significant milestone in Lions International's ongoing efforts to empower the next generation of leaders in Ghana.
Through strategic collaborations such as this, the organisation continues to make a lasting impact on the lives of young entrepreneurs, paving the way for economic growth and development.”
Dr Asamoah-Hassan urged all participants to join Lions International, emphasizing the impact they can make together in transforming communities and supporting Ghana’s growth in the global export market.
