The rating was done by Global Credit Rating Agency (GCR), South Africa, in its 2014 insurance ranking.

The Managing Director of  GGIC, Mr Ofori-Kuragu, made this known at a ceremony in Accra to launch the company’s 10th anniversary celebration.

The anniversary on the theme,”10 years of creating value: our stakeholders; our all” seeks to confirm the company’s commitment in providing their clients with general insurance products that offer value.

Launching  the anniversary, the Commissioner of Insurance, Ms Lydia Lariba Bawa, urged insurance companies nationwide to treat their customers fairly and cautioned them to “refrain from flimsy excuses to repudiate genuine claims”.

The NIC, she said, had issued public claim payment guidelines to help claimants know what was expected of them during claims, adding “my outfit is enforcing and monitoring compliance with the claims and management guidelines by insurance companies”.

Delivering his keynote address, the Chief Executive of GLICO Group, Mr Kwame Achampong-Kyei, commended the company’s  employees and its clients for contributing to the company’s success throughout the years, explaining that they had been recognised by the Ghana Club 100 over the years for its contribution to national development
