Rigworld achieves first in ISO certification

Indigenous oil and gas service company in the upstream sector, RigWorld International Services Limited, has received the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) certification (ISO 14001: 2004, ISO 9001:2008 and OHSAS 8001:2007), making it the only Ghanaian upstream service provider to achieve the feat at a go. 

The certification cover Quality Management System (QMS); Quality, Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Management (QHSE) and observance of best practice in that area. Together, the attainment means the company highly considers its environment and society in all its operations. 

It comes following several systematic requirements and measures put in place by RigWorld and its partners to ensure that their clients are satisfied, as well as enable value for money for all parties. 

Hard work, dedication

“RigWorld did not rest on its oars as it continued to impress its regulators and as well its clients. This became evident when the company was certified by Bureau VERITAS with the ISO 14001: 2004 certificate,” the QHSE Manager, Mr Carlos Akyeampong, said. 

He said the feat was achieved with hard work and dedication from both the leadership of the company and staff.  

The ISO 14001:2004 certificate signified that not only was the company able to achieve high recognition, but it went on to meet all principal management system standards which specified requirements for the formulation and maintenance of an Environmental Management System. 

“This certificate enshrines RigWorld to control the environmental aspects, reduce impacts and ensure legal compliance,” Mr Akyeampong stated.

RigWorld International Services Limited was also awarded certification to prove compliance with the "ISO 9001:2008 standard confirming that the company had achieved all requirements in the area of Quality Management System (QMS) which in effect translated to satisfied clients in both customer expectations and delivery.

Rigworld retained its BS OHSAS 18001: 2007 certification as it met all requirements for occupational health and safety management best practice. 

“All the certification is a culmination of several years of hard work and diligence that have ensured the company follows best practices.”

Mr Akyeampong said that was evident in the company’s core values as it was poised to pay attention to every client detail and specification, adding that the company desired for nothing but to demonstrate its ability to continuously provide unparalleled services of international standards on a daily basis.
