Royal Bank expands frontiers

Royal Bank, one of the emerging forces in the banking industry in Ghana, is expanding its frontiers with the creation of at least 22 branches by next year.

The target is, however, short of five branches, which are to be created by the first quarter of next year.

The Managing Director of the bank, Mr Robert  Bentil, announced this at a special engagement and cocktail ceremony for its clients in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

The programme is the second by the bank, after a similar exercise in Accra recently.

The engagement was to gauge the bank’s performance and adopt strategies to make the bank more vibrant and the preferred choice of many.

The MD seized the opportunity to commend the clients through whom the bank was able to win five awards at the 2013/14 Ghana Banking Awards ceremony.

The bank won the Best Bank in Customer Care, Advisory Service, Long-term Finance; Best household finance and growth.

The bank was recently given ‘the New Era Award’ in total customer care in Italy.

Mr Bentil said the significant strides would not have been possible without the support of the clients. He also promised to bring innovative products that would meet the specific needs of the people in the Ashanti Region.

Mr Samuel Ampadu-Kyei (Kyikyiss), one of the clients, commended the bank for making its services more accessible and friendly to customers.

Indeed, the common thread that ran through the speeches of the clients was the request for an increase in the number of branches beyond the 22 mark so that they would not have to travel long distances to lodge their money or transact business.
