Accra International Conference Centre shut down for renovation

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has announced the immediate closure of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), citing the need for scheduled renovation works to ensure the safety and long-term functionality of the facility.

In a public notice issued on Friday (March 27, 2026), the Ministry confirmed that the AICC would be temporarily shut with effect from March 27, 2026, although no date has been given for its reopening.

Officials said the decision had been taken to allow for essential upgrades, adding that the public would be informed in due course when the centre is ready to receive visitors again.

The conference centre, one of the capital’s premier venues for high-level diplomatic summits, trade exhibitions and major national events, has hosted numerous international gatherings since its inauguration.

The Ministry apologised for any inconvenience caused and reaffirmed its commitment to delivering quality public service.
