Stanbic Bank Ghana’s Affluent Banking Team has reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment and financial inclusion through a Business Leadership Forum held at the Mobole D/A Basic School in the Ningo-Prampram District.
The event, organised in partnership with the Nneka Youth Foundation, brought together students, parents, and community leaders to discuss leadership, innovation, and financial independence. It forms part of Stanbic Bank’s broader mission to equip young people with skills that foster discipline, self-reliance, and long-term success.
The Head of Affluent Banking at Stanbic Bank, Margaret Obimpeh, led the team and emphasised the importance of shaping future leaders through early guidance. “At Stanbic, our purpose is anchored by the belief that Ghana is our home, and we are committed to driving her growth. By nurturing the right habits early, we’re giving the next generation tools that will last a lifetime,” she said.
The session included panel discussions and practical workshops where participants learned about managing finances and building sustainable livelihoods. Manager of Client Experience at Stanbic Bank, Christiana Asafo-Adjei, highlighted the need to introduce financial literacy to children at an early age.
“Financial education shouldn’t wait until adulthood. Children can begin their financial journey with guidance and discipline, securing their future from an early age,” she said. She further introduced students to the 60-30-10 budgeting rule — spending 60 per cent, saving 30 per cent, and giving 10 per cent to others — describing it as a foundation for responsible financial management.
The Business Development Manager for Affluent Clients, Abdul Ahmed Mugiss, spoke about innovation and sustainability, urging young people to adapt to change and prioritise customer needs in business. “A sustainable business evolves with time. Innovation and client feedback are key to long-term success,” he stated.
On leadership, Executive Banker Jonas Tetteh Kugblenu encouraged students to view leadership as service. “True leadership is not about authority; it is about service, integrity, and sound decision-making,” he said.
The Stanbic team also held breakout sessions where students and parents received practical advice on savings, investment, and entrepreneurship. Parents expressed gratitude to the bank for bringing life-changing lessons to their community, with one parent noting, “This initiative shows that Stanbic Bank truly has us at heart.”
As part of the event, the Affluent Banking Team donated GH¢20,000 to the Nneka Youth Foundation to support its 2026 Youth Camp in Ve Agbome in the Volta Region. Presenting the donation, Mrs Obimpeh praised the Foundation’s dedication to empowering the youth. “Madam Cecilia Fiaka and her team have shown remarkable courage and dedication. This is about transforming lives, not just giving financial support,” she said.
The Founder of the Foundation, Cecilia Fiaka, expressed appreciation to the bank for its long-standing partnership. “Stanbic Bank has stood by us since 2012. This contribution will directly impact the lives of young people, just as we envisioned,” she said.
The Mobole forum forms part of Stanbic Bank’s ongoing collaboration with the Nneka Youth Foundation to inspire young people through leadership training, mentorship, and practical skills development.
