The 2024/2025 cohort of National Service Personnel (NSPs) at Stanbic Bank Ghana has made a significant contribution to healthcare delivery at the 37 Military Hospital with a donation to its Dialysis Unit aimed at improving patient care and comfort.
The donation, which included two electric dialysis chairs, a monitoring machine, and GH¢4,200 in cash, is expected to benefit four patients in financial difficulty and enhance the unit’s capacity to deliver efficient renal treatment.
At a brief ceremony in Accra, the Acting Head of Client Coverage at Stanbic Bank Ghana, Jacqueline Osei Kusi, led the team in presenting the items and commended the hospital’s medical staff for their dedication to saving lives.
“This donation goes beyond equipment; it’s about supporting lives. We are honoured to contribute to the wellbeing of patients and to recognise the tireless efforts of healthcare professionals,” she said.
Receiving the items on behalf of the hospital, Surgeon Lieutenant Commander Denis Nyarko, Senior Medical Officer at the Renal Unit, expressed appreciation for the gesture.
“These contributions will significantly enhance our ability to serve patients with comfort and efficiency. The generosity of Stanbic’s service personnel is truly lifesaving and continues a legacy of compassion,” he said.
For the National Service team, the initiative was both a test of teamwork and an opportunity to make a lasting difference. The President of the Stanbic Bank NSP group, Jared Bush, described the experience as fulfilling.
“It wasn’t easy, but the impact makes every effort worthwhile. We wanted our year of service to leave a lasting mark, and we’ve done just that,” he stated.
Other members of the group shared similar sentiments, noting that the project had given them a deeper sense of purpose during their national service year.
The donation forms part of a long-standing Stanbic Bank tradition in which service personnel pool resources annually to support worthy causes within local communities.
The 37 Military Hospital’s Dialysis Unit serves patients from across Ghana, providing essential care to individuals suffering from chronic kidney disease.
