Fameye says he needs $1 million to release new song

Ghanaian singer and songwriter Fameye has made a surprising revelation about the cost of releasing his next song.

In a brief but intriguing Facebook post, the ‘Praise’ hitmaker wrote: “I need 1 million dollars to release my new song!! #myown” — a statement that has since generated mixed reactions from fans and industry watchers.

While some followers interpreted the post as a humorous exaggeration, others believe the musician may be hinting at the growing financial demands involved in producing and promoting music at an international standard.

Known in private life as Peter Famiyeh Bozah, Fameye has steadily built a reputation as one of Ghana’s most relatable and lyrically gifted musicians. Rising to fame with songs such as Nothing I Get, Mati, Long Life and Praise, the singer has earned admiration for his storytelling ability and emotionally driven music which often touches on struggle, gratitude and perseverance.

Over the years, Fameye has evolved from an underground artiste into one of the country’s most sought-after performers, earning nominations and recognition at major award schemes including the Telecel Ghana Music Awards.

Beyond his music, the artiste has also become known for his candid social media posts and outspoken personality, often using online platforms to connect directly with fans and express his views on the realities of the music business.

Although Fameye did not provide details about the supposed $1 million budget, his post has reignited conversations about the financial investment required for music production, promotion, visuals, international distribution and branding in today’s competitive entertainment industry.
