ThirdWell Launches Inclusive Business Centre to empower Ghana’s low-income entrepreneurs

The ThirdWell Inclusive Business Centre (IBC) has officially been launched, marking a major step toward empowering inclusive businesses across Ghana.

The launch took place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Bugum Hall, La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, with government officials, private sector players, and development partners in attendance.

The initiative, supported by GIZ with the Association of Ghana Industrie (AGI) serving as the implementation strategist for the Centre is led by the Executive Chairman of ThirdWell Commodities and the Inclusive Business Centre, Osah Thompson Mensah.

Speaking at the launch, Mr Thompson Mensah explained that the vision behind the Centre is to provide training, advisory services and networking opportunities to businesses that aim to make an impact while remaining commercially viable.

He believes with this initiative, Ghana will join the global movement of countries leveraging inclusive business to drive equitable economic growth.

"The ThirdWell Inclusive Business Centre was created to support businesses that include low-income communities in their value chains. We want to ensure that businesses not only grow and make profits but also create sustainable livelihoods for people at the base of the pyramid," he said.

The IBC is a private, not-for-profit organization designed to boost the capacity of inclusive businesses. Its strategic objective is to attract investment and build partnerships that allow these businesses to scale, enhance incomes, and improve living standards for low-income groups. Inclusive businesses are unique because they combine profitability with social impact—they provide goods, services, and opportunities to people who are usually underserved, such as low-income customers, suppliers, distributors, or employees.

He added, "by supporting inclusive businesses, we are helping to transform communities. When businesses succeed in empowering local suppliers and creating job opportunities, the impact goes far beyond profits—it changes lives."

The collaboration between these partners reflects a growing commitment to inclusive business models that generate both economic and social value.

"We are thrilled to see a platform like the IBC come to life. Our role as strategists is to ensure these businesses have the tools, guidance, and networks needed to grow sustainably," said a representative from AGI.
