tiGO Cash patronage quadruples in 2015

tiGO Cash recorded a remarkable increase in the volume of transactions last year.

With more than 12,000 agents nationwide, tiGO Cash recorded over 35 million transactions in 2015 as against 7,962,078 in 2014, a feat the company attributed to the continuous investment in product enhancement and empowerment of agents to educate the public on the benefits of using the tiGO platform.

According to the General Manager for tiGo Cash, Mr Kwame Oppong, “lower barriers of entry, coupled with our strong drive for mobile wallet adoption and improved value chain, are also major contributors to the high number of transactions we chalked up last year”.

“We are happy to be at the forefront of financial inclusion in Ghana, and we will continue to offer innovative payment solutions for customers and businesses,” he added.

Mr Oppong explained that the company’s aim was to further drive its cashless agenda by helping customers realise and experience the clear tangible benefits of a digital payments system.

“We believe in an economy where citizens can transact all types of businesses online or via phone,” he said.
