Year 2 of Tullow AgriVentures Programme to scale impact in agribusiness sector

Following a highly successful first year, Tullow Ghana, in partnership with Innohub has launched Year 2 of the Tullow AgriVentures Programme (TAP).

This transformative initiative continues its mission to empower agribusinesses, create sustainable jobs, and drive economic growth in Ghana’s agricultural sector.

Since its inception, the Tullow AgriVentures Program has achieved significant milestones.

In Year 1, the programme supported the establishment of over 400 new agribusinesses and the expansion of 10 existing ventures, creating more than 500 direct jobs and disbursing over $600,000 to support small businesses across Ghana.

Through business training, access to funding, and technical assistance, TAP has strengthened the capacity of young entrepreneurs and smallholder farmers, making a meaningful contribution to Ghana’s agribusiness value chain.

Building on this momentum, Year 2 aims to expand its reach and deepen its impact by focusing on enhanced agribusiness development, improved access to financing, and stronger market linkages for program beneficiaries.

The initiative will also emphasize climate-smart agricultural practices, equipping businesses with the tools needed to adapt to climate change and sustainably improve productivity.

Speaking on the programme’s continued impact, the Senior Sustainability Manager at Tullow, Edmund Fiifi Enchill, said the success of Year 1 reaffirmed the company’s commitment to support Ghana’s agribusiness ecosystem.

He explained that the positive impact we’ve seen in the first year, from the creation of new businesses to the growth of existing ventures, has strengthened Tullow’s belief in the potential of this sector.

“By expanding our efforts in Year 2, we are investing in a more resilient, innovative, and sustainable future for agriculture in Ghana – one that empowers local farmers, strengthens food security, and creates lasting economic growth,” he said.

Driving entrepreneurship

The Executive Director of Innohub, Nelson Amo, highlighted the programme’s role in driving entrepreneurial success.

“Through the Tullow AgriVentures Programme, we have channelled resources where it matters most – providing funding to micro-entrepreneurs in rural communities who previously had no access to such opportunities and witnessed tangible transformation of their socio-economic conditions.

Year 2 will bring even more opportunities for entrepreneurs to scale their businesses and contribute to Ghana’s economic growth and food security efforts,” he said.

He added that through ongoing engagement, training, and funding support, Tullow and Innohub remain committed to strengthening Ghana’s agribusiness landscape.
