Bretuo Family launches education fund

The Bretuo Family of Kadjebi in the Volta Region has launched an education fund to award scholarships to brilliant, needy students.

The fund has seed money of GH¢100, 000, contributed by an Accra-based legal practitioner, Mr S.K Osei-Nyame, and an elder of the family, Mr Eric Osei Bonsu.

The educational fund was launched at the swearing-in ceremony of Mr Osei Nyame as the Adontehene of the Kadjebi Traditional Area under the stool name, Nana Sekyere Bediatuo IV, recently. 

He succeeds Nana Akuamoah Sekyere who died in 2012.

 

Education as heritage

Nana Bediatuo said the family had decided to set up an educational heritage for the people of the Kadjebi Traditional Area because education had become an indispensable tool for the prosperity of mankind and they could not ignore the youth but help them to achieve their aims.
