Selina Boateng picked up the Gospel song of the year award

Stonebwoy crowned Artiste of the Year at VGMA2015

Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy was crowned Artiste of the Year at the 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) on Sunday morning.

For his prize he was presented with a plaque and Ghc10,000 cash at the award ceremony which was held at the Accra International Conference Centre.

The VGMA is Ghana’s biggest platform that rewards artistes for their exploits over the past year.

The contenders for this year's top most award were Daddy Lumba, Stonebwoy, Guru, Edem, MzVee, Sarkodie and Samini.

In a speech after receiving his awardO, Stonebwoy said it was well deserved.

"I believe the other artistes are happy I won."

Stonebwoy, Ayigbe Edem and Sarkodie were the biggest winners of the night. They grabbed three awards each.

Male Vocal Performer             Joe Mettle (Turning Around)

Female Vocal Performer:        Wiyaala 

African Artiste:                        Patoranking (Nigeria)

Reggae Dancehall Artiste:     Stonebwoy

Hippop/ Hiplife Artiste:           Sarkodie

Highlife Artiste:                      Daddy Lumba

Gospel Artiste:                      No Tribe (They received a Kantanka vehicle as their prize)

Afro Pop Song:                     Edem feat. Lil Shaker and Ice Queen
