Blackman out with Jehovah
BlackMAN, a Research Officer at the Northern Sector office of the Copyright Administration, Kumasi, has launched his maiden album in Kumasi.
The 10-track album titled Jehovah is a hybrid of genre of music sang in English, French and Twi.

Arranged, composed and performed by Blackman, the songs on the album comprise gospel, jazz, highlife, spiritual; afro beat and root reggae.
The album launch which took place at the forecourt of the Legal Aid office in Kumasi attracted many musicians and other players in the music and copyright industry.
Speaking at the launch, Special Guest, Agya Koo Nimo, a renowned traditional and folklore musician, said the African culture was unique in all standards and should be protected for the generation unborn.
He also said there was the need to put measures in place to protect the African culture to enrich lives for national development.
In a chat with Showbiz, Blackman said he was hopeful that with the launch of the album, Ghanaians would come to understand his kind of music which is aimed at meeting the needs of various music lovers across the globe.
“I want to bring variety into Ghanaian music by blending various genres together for the listener to avoid being bored with one style”, he added.

According to Blackman, real name, James Owusu-Ansah, he would like to use his vast experience in the creative industry to develop Ghanaian music industry for both local and international markets.
He also used the album launch to educate the audience on copyright issues since to him, “the more education people have about copyright, the less challenges and litigations people have in the industry”.
