One of the organisers, Francis Ayenu of ROB Definitions, sought an interlocutory injunction through his lawyers to prevent the Akwaaba Group from holding the party.

Ayenu argued it had been organised peacefully by the Akwaaba Group for years.

However, Justice Mariama Sammo of the Accra High Court dismissed Ayenu's application on December 22, 2023.

In her judgement, Justice Sammo stated, "After carefully examining both sides' arguments and considering their competing rights to justice, I find myself unable to grant the requested injunction based on the presented evidence."

Furthermore, Justice Sammo determined that "granting the injunction would cause greater hardship to the defendants/respondents."

As a result, she concluded, "The motion for an interlocutory injunction is hereby refused."

The Akwaaba Group in a statement reassured the public that the "All White or All Black Attire Party" will remain a peaceful and enjoyable event as it has in the past.

Organisers Michael Ayenu Mensah (DJ Mensah) and Dennis Tawiah promise to make this year's celebration especially entertaining and memorable for Accra residents.
