Adesa Festival starts August 24, promises interesting performances

The first edition of the Adesa Festival will be held on August 24 this years as part of efforts to help rekindle the Ghanaian theatrical arts.

The festival which will take place at the Jamestown Cafe, a creative hub, near the Ussher Fort in Accra will be organised under the theme: "The oral arts revolution; the role of everyone."

The event, intended to be replicated annually will bring togthers players in the creative arts industry, including literary fanatics such as storytellers, poets, musicians, comedians and spoken words artistes.

Instituted by Philjoe Multimedia and Play House.kom, the festival will open conversations, workshops and interviews with legends and teachers of Ghanaian folklore as well as spoken words artistes.

Resources persons and dignitaries lined up for the festival included Prof. Kofi Anyidoho, Grace Omaboe (a.k.a Maame Dokono), Prof. Lade Wosornu, Dr. Mawuli Adjei, Amandzeba Nat (ive) Brew and Abeiku Santana.

The festival will be spiced with performances from one of the oldest Ghanaian storyteller, Ama Boabeng as well as Anumyam, Chieff Moomen, Seyram, Nene Narh, Festus Dzogbewu, Oswald Okaitei, Shiloh, Neeno, Nana Asaase, Daavi Emefa, King Gali, Nana Yaa Yeboah and Fapempong.

It starts from 11am to 9pm.
