Alhassan Yawuza is IARMA-FEST 2024 Ambassador

ORGANISERS of the International Afro Reggae Music Arts Heritage & Culture Festival (IARMA-FEST 2024), have announced New York-based Ghanaian cultural activist, dancer, choreographer, motivational speaker, composer and performer, Alhassan Yawuza, as its official Ambassador.

According to IARMA-FEST founder, Elijah Amekudzi, they searched extensively for a personality that adequately represents the objectives and values of the festival and eventually settled on Yawuza.

“He is a versatile artist committed to what he does. He’s conversant with the general arts movement in Africa and around the world. We couldn’t have chosen a more suitable fellow to be a spokesperson for us,” Amekudzi pointed out.

Organised by Amekudzi in collaboration with Pan Africa-Ghana and Peace Forever Live Music Club, IARMA-FEST 2024 seeks to highlight the different dimensions of music in Africa and showcase the tremendous contributions Africa has made to music and the arts globally over the years.

In accepting the Ambassadorial role for IARMA-FEST, Yawuza thanked the founder and organising committee for the honour and said the festival is a long-awaited platform for the world to come and taste the beauty of humanity on African soil under the sunshine and blue skies.

He stated categorically Africa’s endowments go beyond mere physical natural resources as the continent’s indigenous arts and culture, dances and music of different styles have been appropriated by the world community.

“As an Ambassador, I wish to extend my love, respect and warmest invitation to all. Come let’s celebrate humanity through peaceful gathering in, rejuvenating what makes life better: arts and culture, music and dance while we dine and talk development and love.

“I’m extending my love and respect to everyone across the globe to come and join us to taste real peace with no strings, love with no strings, make new friends, network, build business, education and jam at IARMA-FEST 2024,” Yawuza stated in his acceptance comments.

Activities planned for IARMA-FEST 2024 include workshops on creativity, music business sessions and how to network through international music agencies.  There will be a special focus on how artists can benefit from their merchandise in this era of digitalisation.

IARMA-FEST 2024 was launched at the Only One Beach in Lome, Togo recently with thrilling performances by artists from Ghana, Togo, Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire.  The founder has explained that the main programme next year will be two-pronged: a traditional arts component to happen in March and a contemporary aspect slated for November.
