Ama K. Abebrese invites Prez Mahama to join #DumsorMustStop vigil
As some Ghanaian celebrities are gearing up to hold a vigil on May 16 to put pressure on the government to find a solution to the current power crisis, President John Mahama has been invited to join the event.
Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson, together with rapper Sarkodie and some other celebrities are expect to hit the streets on May 16 to register their frustrations with the current power crises popularly known as ‘Dumsor’.

Lawyers for Yvonne Nelson and Sarkodie have written to the Greater Accra regional command to inform them of a vigil the entertainment personalities are planning to hold on the date.
The vigil, which will be a peaceful possession by the celebrities and their fans with lit candles, torches, and lanterns, is an off shoot of a social media campaign #dumsormuststop that the actress started last week.
Actress Ama K Abebrese, who says she is joining the vigil, has extended an invitation to the president of the country to join the May 16 event.
The award winning actress sent the invitation to the president via her twitter page Tuesday.
“President @JDMahama.The #dumsormuststop #virgil takes place on May 16th. Your humbly invited to join us. Cc @yvonnenelsongh @sarkodie,” she said.
Last week Yvonne Nelson granted the BBC an interview in which she said the nation was in a paralysis because of the persistent and pervasive power cuts popularly called, 'dumsor.

She had been tweeting ferociously about the three-year-old power rationing which has progressively worsened.
She said promises by government that the power challenges would be resolved had not materialised because the people are being lied to.
Michael Owusu Addo, popularly called Sarkodie also accused the political leadership of taking the people for granted.
He said he was sure the power challenges will abate next year because of the presidential and parliamentary elections.

Another celebrity, Lydia Forson, wrote an open letter to the president, also expressing her frustrations at the power situation.
