Amerado: Ghanaians made me realise Kwaku Ananse is a powerful song because everyone was singing it
THERE‘S no doubt rapper Amerado is still on cloud nine because his single, Kwaku Ananse released about four months ago is one of the big bangers of 2023, which is still enjoying the buzz.
But Amerado admits as he basks in its success, he is under pressure to work harder so his next song would be accepted and be as good as Kwaku Ananse.

Speaking in an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Amerado, real name Derrick Sarfo Kantanka, said although he felt the pressure it only made him work harder.
“I know the impact Kwaku Ananse has made and the question I know on people’s lips is: What is next?’ But the truth is I work harder under pressure and I am okay with it because I love what I do. Kwaku Ananse is so big and I know people are wondering the song I will drop that will break it.
“As a musician I should be able to do a song that is bigger than the previous one and that is what I am aiming at. I have never stopped bringing up good songs. There was Grace featuring Lasmid and Abotre featuring Black Sherif and those were amazing songs” he told Graphic Showbiz.
Asked how Kwaku Ananse became so big, the reigning Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) Best Rapper of the Year said he never knew the song would get that big till he heard it at places he didn’t expect to hear it and that prompted him to pay more attention to the lyrics although it was his song.
“Ghanaians made me realise Kwaku Ananse is a powerful song because everyone was singing it. I saw the song as just a normal one but after it blew everywhere, I had to go back to listen to the words and I realised it is a beautiful song,” he stated.
Just as most artistes are going to be busy during December in GH, Amerado is off to Okese Park at Ejisu in the Ashanti Region on Thursday, December 28 to host his first major concert My Motherland.
