Big Ghun earns second AMVCA nomination in a row
Leaked, a movie co-directed by Ghanaian musician cum film director, Nicholas Tetteh Nartey widely known as Big Ghun has earned a slot in the MultiChoice Talent Factory category at this year’s Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards slated for Saturday, May 20, in Lagos, Nigeria.
The latest feat comes a year after his short film, KORO was nominated in the Best Short Film category at last year’s awards ceremony.

Even though he didn’t win, KORO made exploits at various international film festivals such as Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) and won the Best Short Film at the Robbinson’s Film awards in Italy.
Leaked is a showmax original that was commissioned through the Multichoice Talent Factory programme. In its first week of release, Leaked earned the Best Viewers Choice film at Beeta Arts festival Held in Abuja.
In a conversation with Graphic Showbiz, Big Ghun said he was not surprised at the nomination considering that Leaked is currently among the list of top 20 films on Showmax.
“Leaked is currently top 20 films on Showmax and it’s even yet to reach higher heights. I have few projects in the pipeline for this year and I hope Ghanaians and Africans accept them just as they have done with my other projects,” he stated.
Multichoice, organisers of the annual Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) announced nominees list for this year’s event but unfortunately, Ghanaian movie stars were missing.
Only Roselyn Ngissah found a slot in the Best Actress in a Comedy- (MOVIE/TV SERIES) category.

However, a sea of Nollywood stars including Tobi Bakre, Bimbo Ademoye and Chidi Mokeme are headlining the nomination list for the highly anticipated ninth edition of the prestigious event next month.
The annual event, which by tradition recognises outstanding performances in television, film, and entertainment, has added digital content creation throughout Nollywood and the entire African content to the lineup.
