CAA partners Ghana Library Authority for ‘Ghana Arts Experience’ in Ghana Month
As part of activities marking the 2026 Ghana Heritage Month, the Creative Arts Agency (CAA) and the Ghana Library Authority have partnered with several state institutions and creative industry associations to introduce a new initiative dubbed “Ghana Arts Experience.”
The programme is designed to celebrate and promote Ghana’s rich artistic heritage while offering both residents and visitors the opportunity to engage with the country’s diverse creative expressions.
The Ghana Arts Experience will bring together various forms of artistic expression, ranging from performing arts and visual arts to audio-visual productions.
The initiative seeks to create a platform for artists to showcase both the tangible and intangible aspects of Ghana’s cultural heritage through indigenous and contemporary art forms.
Held under the theme “Ghana, Through the Lens of the Artists,” the project is a collaborative effort involving several public institutions and industry groups.
Key partners include the Creative Arts Agency, Ghana Library Authority, Ghana Museums and Monuments Board, Bureau of Ghana Languages, Ghana Commission for UNESCO, and the Greater Accra Centre for National Culture.
Several creative arts associations are also supporting the initiative, including the Ghana Association of Visual Artists, Ghana National Tailors and Dressmakers Association, Ghana Concert Party Union, Ghana Publishers Association, Ghana Association of Writers, Ghana Dance Association, and the Models Union of Ghana.
Private organisations such as the Agrihouse Foundation, Lidodo Art Foundation, and Cadling Fashions are also participating.
Scheduled for the final two weeks of March, the event will feature a variety of activities aimed at engaging the public and promoting artistic creativity.
These include the Inspire the Art-in-Me Tour, an Art Exhibition, Fashion Meets Culture: A Walk Show and Conversation, the Ghana Concert Party Experience, Cine’ in the Street, the Ghana Literary Experience, Skin Roars and Movements, The Arts Conversation, and Rhythmz of Our Land, among others.
According to Gideon Aryeequaye, Acting Executive Secretary of the Creative Arts Agency and a lead coordinator of the project, full details of the activities will be unveiled during a special launch event.
He further explained that the Ghana Arts Experience is intended to become an annual feature of the Heritage Month celebrations. He noted that this year’s edition serves as a foundation for even larger activities planned ahead of Ghana’s 70th independence anniversary.
“The Ghana Arts Experience, as part of the Ghana Month celebration from an arts perspective, will become an annual event. This year’s edition is only a prelude as we prepare for a grand celebration of Ghana at 70,” he said.
