The concert has served as a platform for many notable gospel artistes such as Daughters of Glorious Jesus, OJ, Rev Yawson and a host of others to bless patrons with soul inspiring music.

This year, “new faces” – Irene Logan, Alexandra and Jackie Mpare–are expected to serve the same purpose.

“I know these names aren’t too familiar in mainstream gospel music but they have set themselves apart with their gift of singing and I know they will make a meaningful impact and be a blessing to patrons on the day,” Bernard Amankwah said in an interview with the Daily Graphic.

Popular figures have always been instrumental in promoting peace and unity during elections and coming off in an election year, the concert is sub-themed, ‘Peace Concert’.

On hand to deliver peace messages will be a parade of eminent Ghanaian and foreign dignitaries who have graciously consented to become Peace Ambassadors at the concert.

It will be the second by the gospel artiste, the first being the Peace Concert of 2012 which was held at the forecourt of the Banquet Hall, State House.

“We have no other country but Ghana and in spite of our different tribal and political backgrounds, we must see ourselves as one people working towards the common agenda of development. Our political diversities shouldn’t be a cause for war,” he emphasised his call for peaceful elections.

The artiste who is also known for songs such as Mercy and Rescue has assured patrons he would perform live songs on his new Redeemed album.
