Celebs on flood and fire disaster

The effects of the flood and fire disaster which rocked the nation last Wednesday night is still with us and like most Ghanaians, our celebs are still reeling in the shock of the unfortunate incident.Comedian DKB cannot thank God enough for his life.

“Of course, I am unhappy that so many people have died but I am happy to be alive. I had wanted to go buy fuel at the particular Goil filling station on that fateful day. I did not go there again because a friend asked me not to come because the place was flooded.

“I Thank God for my life because I could have been dead by now. However, my condolences to the flood victims and anyone who lost a property. God knows why this happened,” he said.

On his part, rapper Okyeame Kwame said, “it was a gruesome night and I pray nothing like this happens again. I was traumatised when I heard the floods and fire had killed close to 200 people last Wednesday night. I pray to God this never happens again,” Okyeame Kwame said.

For Stonebwoy, the disaster which happened last Wednesday is a sad one. “To the lost souls, I pray God keeps them safe. Although we hear of floods killing one or two people, the number of casualties for this incidence was just too much. It’s sad bereaved families have to go through this sad moments,” he said.

Stonebwoy believes poor drainage system is the cause of the problem and advised the powers that be to do something to prevent such a disaster ever happening again.

Actress, Emelia Brobbey, believes strong institutions in the country will be the answer to prevent the flooding that occurs whenever it rains.

“We are now playing politics with everything so leaders cannot take hard decisions. It is time to demolish structures build in water ways to save lives. What happened last Wednesday should never occur again. Never”, she added.

Gospel musician, Gifty Osei, shares the sentiments of her colleagues and prays such a disaster should be the last this country will ever experience.
