Collabos sometimes challenging — Fameye
He is undoubtedly one of the fast rising artistes in Ghana, making waves with hits songs for which reason many artistes would like to feature him on their songs but Afrobeat/Highlife musician Fameye, has revealed challenges in collaborating on songs.
Fameye, who is pleased to be among acts approached for features, stated that it was a bit of a challenge for him to combine his style of music with others.
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz on Monday, May 4, Fameye, born Peter Famiyeh Bozah, said “features are good and I am glad to be consulted by other artistes but it can be very challenging. That is why I have even reduced featuring on other songs for the mean time. I have not stopped entirely but just that it comes with some challenges.

“More is expected of me and I have to be dynamic just to give my fans something new that is why I don’t just accept offers. I can turn an artiste down if his style of music doesn’t vibe with mine. For instance, if I receive a song which talks too much about hatred, I will suggest we do something about it or you go your way.
“Every musician has their style and there are times I get features which don’t tally with my style. It might not be my song but my image will be part so we both have to work it out. But if I suggest and you want to be stubborn, I’ll just allow you to go. At times, I charge outrageous fees just to turn down offers,” he said.
Talking about beefing in the music industry, the Nothing I Get hitmaker says he is not interested in starting a beef with any artiste.
“I won’t be judgmental but if beefing is good for others, they can do it but I don’t think I will beef to promote my brand. There are times I have been approached to start a beef but I don’t. Even if someone else starts, I don’t think I will reply,” he stated.
Last Saturday, the 3Music Awards 2020 came off at the Fantasy Dome, Trade Fair Centre, Accra and among the performing acts for the virtual event was Fameye. Not only did he perform but he also won the Breakthrough Act of the Year award.
“I got the exact award I wanted. When the list of nominees was released, I told my fans to vote for me to win that particular award. I am happy I won the award I campaigned for. Hopefully, I will win more than one award next year,” he said.
