Creative Arts Agency engages Ghana National Tailors & Dressmakers Association

The Creative Arts Agency of Ghana (CAAG) continued its national stakeholder engagement programme yesterday by successfully engaging the Ghana National Tailors & Dressmakers Association (Greater Accra chapter) on Wednesday, February 25.

This follows an earlier successful session with the Greater Accra chapter of the Ghana Association of Visual Artists.

The meet-up brought together over 300 participants, primarily leadership representatives from various zones in Greater Accra, representing nearly 4,000 registered members.

The session provided a vital platform to connect with a key yet historically marginalized creative community and to showcase the agency’s mandate in developing Ghana’s creative sector.

During the engagement, CAAG highlighted its mission, presented the concept and operations of the Creative Arts Fund, and listened to the concerns, aspirations, and policy suggestions of the tailors and dressmakers.

This dialogue aims to ensure that the voices of this sector are considered in shaping policies and programs that directly affect them.

Looking ahead, the agency plans to continue the CAAG-Creatives Meet-Up Series with engagements targeting the literary creative sector as well as the National Hairdressers and Beauticians Association, further strengthening its nationwide collaboration with Ghana’s creative communities.
