Daniel Azuberi wins MTN Soccer Academy 6 Skuulz Challenge

Young Daniel Azuberi of Bolgatanga Senior High School was left tear-eyed after being declared winner of the MTN Soccer Academy Skuulz challenge, beating four other contestants in the soccer reality show on Metro TV last Saturday.

It was a never-to-be-forgotten night for the youngster who became the proud owner of a Hyundai Accent saloon car, a laptop computer and a chance to realise his dream of a future professional career by undergoing a two-week trial with the youth side of Manchester City.

His exploits at the MTN Soccer Academy also earned his school a new Hyundai i10 car as part of the winner’s prize donated by Auto Plaza Limited.

Stephen Essau of Sekondi College and Abou Bawa of Wa Senior High School finished as first and second runners-up respectively, with Essau receiving a Hyundai i10 car as his prize..

Azubire again won the top scorer’s prize for scoring 16 goals during the 73-day event, while Bawa claimed the award for the Best Goal, with Franklin Asante of St Thomas Aquinas Senior High School adjudged the Most Disciplined Player.

It was a night where music and football shared a common platform at the Academy House at Ridge, with hiplife stars Chemphe,  Kaakie, Dobble & Slim and  4x4 thrilled the crowd which included the Minister of Youth and Sports, elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Talal Fattal, CEO of Metro TV,  Franklin Sowah of MTN Ghana and Jerzy Jihad of Auto Plaza Limited.
