‘Funny but not clown’ – Yemi Alade on her ideal man
Nigerian songstress Yemi Alade has shared her thoughts on the perfect partner. According to her, the ideal man should have a great sense of humour, but know when to be serious.
Speaking in a recent interview with Nigeria's VJ Adams, the ‘Johnny’ crooner said she also looks out for beards, eyes, and height.

VJ Adams asked: “What are the physical qualities you notice first in a man?”
Yemi Alade replied: “I think beards are good. It would be definitely the eyes, the composure, the height and then eventually what comes out of that mouth. Funny is good but not a clown. There’s a tiny line there.
“I would say someone who is modest. There isn’t too much of braggadociousness but there’s also the let them know vibe. I don’t like people that brag.”
With a career spanning over a decade, Yemi Alade has achieved numerous milestones. She won the Peak Talent Show in 2009 and subsequently signed with Effyzzie Music Group.
Her hit single "Johnny" (2014) propelled her to fame. Alade has released successful albums, including King of Queens and Mama Africa, and embarked on consecutive world tours.
Her numerous awards and recognitions include MTV African Music Awards for Best Female (2015, 2016), First female to win consecutive MAMAs for Best Female, nominated for Artiste of the Year (2015), First African female nominated for MTV Europe Music Awards (2015), BET Awards nominations for Best International Act: Africa (2015, 2016) and debuted at No. 4 on Billboard's "Next Big Sound" Chart (2016).
