Gasmilla, No Tribe for Television Awards Ghana

Having enjoyed success this year following the release of his Telemo song, it is not surprising Ghanaian hiplife artiste, Gasmilla, has been the toast of patrons at many shows.

And the feeling will be no different when he mounts the stage at this year’s Television Awards Ghana (TAG) also known as the Prime Time Awards scheduled for the Accra International Conference Centre(AICC) on Friday, August 14.

With a line-up of performances from gospel music group, No Tribe, Kwabena Kwabena, controversial rib cracker, Afia Schwarznegger, and a special appearance from Kumawood actors, Kyeiwaa and Akrobeto, patrons of this year’s TAG should be sure of a good treat on the day.

Gasmilla, who just released his Falefale song told Daily Graphic  that, TAG would be the right platform to talk about the song which entreats people to keep their surroundings clean.

“I believe it is a step in the right direction since television is a major contributor to an artiste’s success. I feel honoured to be part of this great initiative and I promise my fans nothing but an electrifying show from me,” he said.

 TAG was established last year with the aim of creating a professional conduct in the television industry and to reward its stakeholders.

Apart from the eight popular categories- Most Popular Television Morning Show, Most Popular Television Sports Show of the Year, Most Popular Televsion Current Affairs/News Programme of the Year, Most Popular Television Host/Hostess of the Year, Most Popular Television Actor/Actress of the Year, Most Popular Television Children Programme of the Year, Most Popular Television Entertainment Show of the Year and Most Popular Television Show of the Year- based on public votes, the other categories will be decided by the board.

There will be 31 other categories whose winners will be chosen by the awards faculty based on set criteria for each.

Also, there will be four honorary categories to be determined by the board of trustees in consultation with the faculty and planning committee.

Prior to  the Prime Time Awards on August 14, there will be a Dinner and Industry Awards which will take place at the Best Western Hotel on Saturday, August 8.
