My ex-manager was my fiancé - Queen eShun
Ghanaian singer and songwriter, Ethel Esi Eshun who is popularly known as Queen eShun has debunked claims that she was signed by her ex-manager, Stephen Mensah for five years.
“He came out to say that we had agreed on a five years contract which I had fulfilled three years and couldn’t complete the two years and I opted out that I won’t continue again. I sit here on Zionfelix medium saying to everyone hearing that, that is a palpable lie. There was no contractual agreement between us and if he claims to have signed any contract, I dare him to bring that contract should bring proof,” she said.
Speaking in an interview on an Accra base radio station, Adom FM on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, eShun disclosed that she was dating her manager, Stephen Mensah, at the peak of her career but had to leave him because things were not working out between them.

‘I met Stephen as everyone meets his or her lover and when we met he said I’ve been to reality shows and others so he will help so that we can both build a family together’, she explained.
She however said after a year she realised she has entered into a “toxic” relationship which she needs to walk away from.
She explained that she was emotionally and verbally abused by her ex-fiancé who made her worship him as a “god”.
She claims that there were instances where he allegedly used pastors to deceive her to stay in his life because she no longer wanted to continue the relationship with him.
“He put so much fear in me emotionally, psychologically, I will be stuck, so I was looking out for help. I even cheated because I thought that person would save me from that situation… there was a time prophets text to scare me to stay by his side or die just as Ebony did.”
She also took to her Instagram page and said "Today I am breaking free from all the chains you put on me... I will wear them as ornaments. Silence is golden until it’s NOT. Enough is Enough. #handcuff #broken #queeneshun #enoughisenough."

Recalling their first argument Queen eShun said “After a year and over I realised I couldn’t stay. He wanted me to leave with him in his house. He was in Cape and I was in Accra. I loved him so I moved in with him.
eShun added that all of the funds she received from her online streams and performances from shows went directly into her ex-manager, Stephen Mensah’s bank account.

“I took it as he is the head of the house so I gave him everything. I didn’t think it was an issue because it wasn’t a working relationship,”
“It was an intimate relationship hoping to lead to something better. I didn’t have any problem with him taking my money,” she said.
