Graphic Showbiz forum to focus on importance of digitisation

The Editor of Graphic Showbiz, Adwoa Serwaa Bonsu, has stated that persons in the creative industry stand to gain a lot of insight into digitisation at the Graphic Showbiz forum which will come off at TV3’s Executive Theatre on Tuesday, June 22.

According to her, the forum, which is on the theme: “Maximising benefits of digitisation in COVID-19 era,” would focus on the importance of digitisation to the creative person, especially in this pandemic era.

It also offers an opportunity for a carefully selected panel to share experience on how they are dealing with disruptions in the creative sector caused by COVID-19 and finding innovative solutions.

“For instance, how has the transition to mainly digital been for creatives?  Will digitisation be the new normal after COVID-19? These are some of the questions we hope our panel members will be able to give answers to and we hope that there will be lessons for everyone in the sector,” she stated.

The speakers for the forum have been drawn from various sectors of the creative industry and they are Hiplife musician Okyeame Kwame; CEO of 3Music Networks Limited, Sadiq Abdulai Abu; creative entrepreneur Mabel Simpson of Msimps; filmmaker and CEO of Farmhouse Productions, Ivan Quasigah; artiste manager George Britton and blogger Ameyaw Debrah.

They are expected to focus on sharing experiences, giving guidance as well as tools available for creatives and how the industry can fully explore the potential of digitisation even beyond the pandemic.

Speaking about his readiness, Ameyaw Debrah said there were many opportunities to learn and grow with the use of social media, streaming platforms and other tools that allow creatives to showcase their talents and compete locally and globally.

“I hope the other panellists and I will lead an important discussion particularly in this pandemic when digitisation has become a necessity for the survival of brands,” he stated.
