I pray this honour glorifies my mother in her grave, Failatu on attempted cooka-thon record
Abdul-Razak Failatu, the Ghanaian lady who is attempting to set a Guinness World Record (GWR) of the longest cooking marathon says she is embarking on the feat to honour her mother in the grave.
In a Facebook post on Sunday night, few hours before starting the cook-athon on the midnight of yesterday, January 1, Failatu rather disclosed a not so good relationship with her deceased mother but was hopeful she would be satisfied with her achievement.

“I forgive you oh Mama, for all the love you couldn’t give me, I forgive you for all you couldn’t give me. I forgive you for all you couldn’t do for me because you didn’t have it.
I forgive you for all the time and attention you couldn’t give me. I forgive you for God and myself. I pray that this honour glorifies you in your grave. I pray that you are satisfied for my achievement. Rest In Honour Mama. I’ll do this for you,” she posted.
As the world welcomed the New Year 2024, Abdul-Razak Failatu started her attempt to set a Guinness World Record (GWR) of the longest cooking marathon, days after Afua Asantewaa Owusu Aduonum's sing-a-thon world record attempt officially ended after five days.
Failatu Abdul-Razak started her attempt on the eve on the New Year - 2024 in Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana.

Failatu is attempting to break the current Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon. She is aiming to clock 120-hours.

26-year-old Hilda Baci had achieved the longest cooking marathon with a time of 93 hours and 11 minutes.
She was on Tuesday, June 13, officially declared the Guinness World Record holder.
Failatu is working from the Modern City Hotel in Tamale.
