I recorded “On God” with angels in my room, says Shatta Wale

Ghanaian dancehall icon Shatta Wale has made a startling claim about his 2022 hit single "On God," stating that angels were present in his room during the recording process.

"I was motivated by the doubters and naysayers who pitted me against Black Sherif," Shatta Wale explained. "That energy drove me to create something special, and 'On God' was born."

The "Kakai” hitmaker, renowned for his innovative spirit and versatility, captivated fans with "On God," cementing his status as a trailblazer in Ghana's music scene.

When Black Sherif came out, there was a whole comparison and I just laughed because I break people’s careers. When they started saying that, I was fueled to record On God’ because I was like, ‘God, why are you making these people do this to me. Like, I started playing something in my room and angels were sitting with me.

“The song was so spiritual to me before it came out. Sometimes, when I sit down and see all these comparisons, I say, ‘please, don’t try and fight what you don’t know’.

“For instance, when you go to the zoo and see lion out of the cage, you will definitely run but when you see a mouse, you will hit it.

“Shatta Wale is a kind of spirit that when you touch, it’s so serious that Angel Michael gets pissed. Noah will bore, Shedrack, Meshack and Abednego will all will not happy because I’m like a burning furnace,” he stated.

He went on to boast that in the Ghanaian entertainment fraternity, “I am like the phoenix.”
