JACCD holds 28th graduation ceremony for Class of 2023
The Joyce Ababio College of Creative Design, now known as JACCD Design Institute Africa has held its 28th graduation ceremony for over 50 students for class of 2023 last Saturday.

It was certainly a moment of pride for the graduates, faculty and staff of JACCD as well as family and friends who attended the graduation which had Ambassador Edward Boateng as Special guest.
Unlike previous years, this year's graduation was very distinct with graduating students having the opportunity to showcase their works on the runway in adaptive clothing.
The initiative was a collaboration between JACCD, Joyce Ababio Fashion Foundation and the Centre for Employment for people living with disabilities.
To show their versatility and prove that they are able differently, some physically challenged persons strut the runway in adaptive clothing oozing much confidence to the admiration of the audience.
In her presentation, the president of JACCD DIA, Madam Joyce Ababio applauded the supporters of Joyce Ababio Design Foundation who have diligently supported differently abled students to pursue their lifelong ambitions of being creatives.
Ms. Ababio emphasised the need for both national and local authorities to support such initiatives as it falls in line with global SDG’s agenda as well as provides lifelong opportunities for differently abled persons.

The Special Guest of Honour, Ambassador Edward Boateng, who has been a firm advocate for entrepreneurship for differently abled individuals, applauded JACCD DIA and the JADF for the bold step of reducing stigmatisation and discrimination against physically challenged persons.
In his speech, he reiterated the need to focus on creative skills that supports individuals to be fully employed after graduation and the need for other companies to support such laudable initiatives.
Among a number of dignitaries who attended the ceremony were Akwasi Agyeman, CEO of Ghana Tourist Board, Prof. Douglas Boateng, Afi Antionio, Bri Wiredu and President of Center for Employment of Persons with Disability.
The others are members of Rotary club, World vision, UNDP, Association of disabled people in Ghana, and Ambe Petoline Bih, 3rd Deputy Mayor of Bafut Council - Northwest Region of Cameroon.
Yaa Pimpim and Mavis Delilai Dakey tppk home the Excellent Students awards for their conceptualisation, critical thinking, designs and overall creative performance.
That is not all, three-faculty members were also honoured for their long service, dedication and commitment to the course the Institution's 28 years existence.
The awardees were Madam Eleanor Ashittey, Abigial Smith and Frank Quartey of the Art and Design department.
A Students Representative Council (SRC) for the new academic year was inducted and sworn into office to seek the welfare of students through collaboration and engagements with the institution’s management.
