Jay Z, Kanye planning charity show

Jay Z and Kanye West are reportedly hoping to follow in Sir Bob Geldof's footsteps by staging a massive charity concert.

The two megastars are thought to be planning on rounding up other top names in music to perform at the event, which will raise vital funds to help Ebola victims.

Bob confirmed earlier last week that he and Midge Ure will be making a new version of classic charity hit Do They Know It's Christmas? with a host of well known singers to also raise money for the crisis.

'Jay Z and Kanye heard about the charity single happening in the UK and decided the US should do something.

So they've planned to host and perform at a gig and give the proceeds to Ebola victims,' an insider told British newspaper Daily Star.

Across the pond, Jay and Kanye are also said to be eyeing up A-list stars for their gig.

'Rihanna, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj and Stevie Wonder are top of their list and providing their schedules work, they'd all be up for it,' the source divulged.

"They know it will be huge, but their aim is to make it the biggest show on earth.

'Both Jay and Kanye are horrified by the spread of Ebola and want to do everything they can to help.

They wanted to do something different to Band Aid, and thought that a gig would be a great idea. They know that a show with their backing will get a lot of publicity.'

It's also thought other versions of Band Aid 30 will be released by American artists and singers in Europe.
