Akuapem Poloo's apology is fake - Kwasi Aboagye

The host of Peace FM's Entertainment Review, Kwasi Aboagye, has described as fake, an apology by social media celebrity, Rosemond Brown popularly known as Akuapem Poloo, over her controversial nude photo.

Speaking on his show on Saturday, July 4, Kwasi Aboagye said he was not convinced that Akuapem Poloo was remorseful.

"Anyone who would say Akuapem Poloo is remorseful or sorry doesn't know the truth. It is calculated and a planned thing, she knew she will get us talking and that is why she went ahead to do this.

"I don't mind if she wants to put her nakedness out but to include her child is a no-no. Her excuse that she bathes with the child is no license to subject the child to that and clearly, from her apology and unnecessary excuses to justify her actions, it means she is not remorseful," he said.

Kwasi Aboagye said he was surprised that people were ignoring the psychological impact the picture could have on the child because it was inappropriate for his age.

"It is not a good thing by psychology to expose your nakedness to your child. This is the time that the child is forming perceptions and as a mother if you constantly show your nakedness to your child, you are telling him that women are cheap and their nakedness is not valuable so men should see it," he stated.

Akuapem Poloo has faced severe backlash for posting the nude photo of her squatting in front of her son, who she affectionately calls Chief last week.

She put up the picture in celebration her son's birthday and she was criticised by both celebrities and non-celebrities alike.

Non-governmental organisation, Child Rights International and the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection condemned her action. The Ministry also said it was investigating the matter since she had breached the laws.

She was also invited by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) but she failed to honour it.
