It seems their activities have not escaped the watchful eyes of some Ghanaians, and one such person is playwright, Latif Abubakar. In his latest play, Mallams and Pastors which will be staged on Saturday, May 28 and 29 at the Accra International Conference Centre, Latif tackles some of the prophecies, predictions and lifestyles of some Mallams and Pastors.

The plot of the play revolves around a power drunk politician who in the bid to overturn the negative prophecies about his political fortunes in an election year, works everything under the sun to win political power.

To help him achieve his dream, he employs the services of a house boy who will later change the “destiny” of the politician and some renowned and respected men of God after revealing their secrets.

The humour - laden play is expected to show at 4:00 p.m. and 8:00p.m. each day.

His commitment to bring to fore some of society’s ills has seen Latif Abubakar explore some important issues such as corruption, the lack of patriotism, the high rate of divorce in his plays.

Latif Abubakar and his Globe Productions have over the last six years put out attention-grabbing plays such as Thank God for Idiots, Romantic Nonsense, You May Kiss the Corpse, Gallery of Comedies, The Second Coming of Nkrumah and What Can Come Can Come.
