Unprotected sex and its consequences, condom use, rape, parent-teen relationship, sibling relationship, personal hygiene and peer pressure are some of the topics that will be discussed on the talk show.
In a chat with Showbiz, Lerny said “it’s an honour and privilege to host this new show. I’m thankful for the opportunity to host a show that discusses relevant topics that can lead to youth development, and ultimately Ghana’s growth agenda.”
The YOLO Hangout is an NPC initiative with support from the USAID, and facilitated by Communicate For Health. It is produced by Farmhouse Productions and directed by Ivan Quashigah.
Giving an insight into how she got into the media, Lerny Lomotey said, “At age 13, I auditioned for a presenting gig with TV3 but didn’t make the shortlist because I wasn’t 18 years old, a necessary requirement.
“A year later, as a basic school graduate I walked into Sunny FM with the hope of getting a job but I was turned down and was advised to frequently record and listen to my voice.
“I continued to YFM and the news was still the same,” she said.
She finally got her break after nine years of trying in 2015 when she joined Live FM as a national service personnel with the help of broadcast journalist, Kafui Dey.

“During my stay at the Adabraka-based station, I worked as a producer, and also hosted a health segment on Lifestyle Café, the station’s mid-morning show and that was it for me.”
She is currently the host of Oceans Entertainment Box which airs on Oceans TV and was a cast member of Season Two of television series, Heels and Sneakers, produced by actress Yvonne Nelson.
