During the informal meeting, Ms Kawra shared her plan to launch a reading project to encourage students to read more.
The meeting came off just before Ms Kawra’s first trip to Britain to represent and promote Ghana at the World Travel Market (WTM) and the (Ghana UK-BASED Achievement (GUBA) Awards.
The annual WTM brings together tourism industry stakeholders from all over the world to deliberate on matters affecting tourism worldwide. The GUBA Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of Ghanaians based in the UK.
Ms Kawra has been travelling internally, as well as abroad selling Ghana's immense tourism potential and conceiving projects to help enhance tourism in Ghana since winning the Miss Tourism crown.
Last month, she represented Ghana in Equatorial Guinea at the Miss Tourism World contest. She earned a Top 20 spot and was the first runner-up, as well as the Miss Elegance winner in the Miss Tourism Africa segment.
She recently firmed up plans to collaborate with OrphanAid Africa's president and founder, Lisa Lovatt-Smith to help improve the lot of Ghana's orphaned and displaced children.
The Miss Tourism Ghana organisation has formed tourist and environmental clubs in schools all over the country and Miss Kawra has planned to visit them to interact with members on the importance of sanitation and its relationship to tourism.
Ms Tourism Ghana’s trip to Britain is being sponsored by British Council, Emefa Jewellery, DaViva, Darling Hair, Hall of Peter Design House, GIHOC and the Venue Restaurant at East Legon.
