The Chief Organiser of the event, Claudia Lumor, told The Mirror that, “The party is meant to give the stakeholders the right atmosphere to relax and prepare for the job ahead, which is to present a good fashion week that will truly promote African fashion”.

The Glitz Africa Fashion Week, which made its debut last year, provides a unique platform for the African fashion industry to showcase its talent, network and celebrate its diversities.

The five-day event opened at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) last Thursday, November 7, and will run till Sunday, November 10, 2013.

It features 15 runway shows, seminars, fashion sales and exhibitions, with over 70 international models in attendance.

Apart from the exhibitions, seminars and runway show, the event will be climaxed with the Fashion Week Awards and an after-party.

Claudia, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Glitz Africa and Editor-In-Chief of Glitz Africa Magazine, said this year’s event "Will definitely be a notch higher than the maiden show.  Our focus every time with Glitz is always to make sure that every time we come out with something new, it's better and improved than the one before."
