Ms Shooter is Miss Ghana
For her prize, Miss Shooter received a new car, a cash prize and the prestigious opportunity to represent Ghana at the 2013 Miss World.
Jennifer Annan, also 22, and an undergraduate from the University of Development Studies Wa, finished as the runner-up while Naadia Ntahu, 23 was first runner-up.
The three ladies was chosen after a vigorous sections in various categories which saw the initial number of 18 cut down to 10 before the final five were selected based on their performances in the interview segment.
The five finalists included Roseline Okoro and Billey Sung La-Bou who both won special awards.
For the first time in the history 55-year history of the competition, the three winners of this year’s event will be given official cars, a cash prize, tickets to London, employment opportunities, branding and ambassadorial openings, elegant household appliances, and many more.
Other exciting prizes include full educational scholarships worth $220,000.00 ($110, 000.00 each) to two lucky finalists, to study with one of the best universities in the United States of America, Benedict College, and also a year’s accommodation for the new Miss Ghana 2012 and her two runner ups, who will be residing at the plush Miss Ghana House, donated by Manet Properties.
On the night it was indeed a well-organised event with performances from Nigerian songstress Asa, three of Ghana’s greats, Efya and Gyedu Blay Ambulley and Sherifa Gunu and Africa’s finest comedian, Basket Mouth.
The Special awards given to the contestants were based on the display of exceptional skills either on the day of the pageant or throughout their camping period.
