Outlining the process and mechanics of the reality show, dubbed MTN Hitmaker Season VI-The Next Level, the General Manager for Marketing Services, Richard Acheampong said participants have the option of sending their works through MTN’s online platforms or through Whatsapp after which successful applicants will have the chance to be auditioned live by the judges.

After that 24 finalists who make it to the next level will be sent through a bootcamp where they will be coached and nurtured on how to be better musicians. The finalists will partake in a live show till the number is whittled down to the final 12 contestants who will be selected and introduced to the public.

The final 12 contestants will now have the opportunity to go through the eviction shows, perform to live audience and judges until the last four finalists, who will battle it out at the Final Showdown.

The weekly eviction process will be based on votes from fans via SMS or MTN’s digital platforms and the judges score.

In an interview with Showbiz, Richard Acheampong said, “Unlike previous editions of the reality show, participants do not have to submit physical CDs to MTN offices or collection points but have the option of submitting content through MTN Play platform or through Whatsapp, it’s as simple as that.

“There are a lot of things that go on behind the scene that the audience do not get the chance to see, but that will not be the case in this edition.

“MTN is dedicating the video plus platform to Hitmaker and we are going to capture all the behind-the-scenes moments and make them available online so the fans of our contestants will be able to stream or download at their convience to watch and root for their favourite contestants,” he said.

Music producer Kaywa and Caroline Sampson were announced as judges with one surprise judge to be announced later.
