MTN Legends and Legacy Ball to celebrate AB Crentsil
He had a dondo drum tucked under his left arm, with a big white towel slung over his right shoulder as he walked up to acknowledge his selection by Imajin Advertising as the music legend to be celebrated this year at the MTN Legends and Legacy (LAL) Ball.

With his popular Moses song playing in the background, AB Crentsil hit some notes on his dondo and thanked Imajin Advertising for choosing him as the legend for 2013.
“Let’s all prepare for a fantastic show on November 30 at the Accra International Conference Centre,” AB Crentsil said to the guests at the launch of this yeasr’s LAL Ball at the Oak Plaza Hotel on the Spintex Road in Accra last Thursday.
The announcement of AB Crentsil as the legend for this year was made at the launch by last year’s honouree, Amakye Dede.
“I salute you. You deserve the honour,” Amakye said to AB Crentsil after hugging him and shaking his hand.
The LAL Ball series was started in 2011 by Imajin Advertising to honour outstanding Ghanaian musicians. Daddy Lumba was the first artiste celebrated. He was followed by Amakye Dede in 2012.
The General Manager for Imajin Advertising, Francis Adjei, said at the launch that this year’s LAL Ball would mark another historical chapter in the entertainment business in this country.
“We are glad to celebrate a great son of this country. Through music, he has inspired many young talents, not only in Ghana but throughout the entire sub-region,” Adjei said.
“We live in an era where our cherished achievers are not appreciated and rewarded but we at Imajin say thank you to AB Crentsil. We promise an exciting event at the 2013 ball.”
Speaking on behalf MTN, the main sponsor of the programme, Admiral Abbey said his outfit had critically monitored and observed the LAL Ball since its inception in 2011 and felt it was a wonderful platform for honouring achievers in this country.
“There is no better time for us to join this event than now. Pretty soon, we will unveil a number of activations earmarked at promoting the celebration of this year’s legend,” the MTN official said.
Bessa Simons, the Second Vice President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), also thanked Imajin Advertising for instituting the LAL Ball,
“It would make young musicians not to lose hope but know that they would one day be recognised for their hard work,” Bessa stated.
Other artistes scheduled to perform at the 2013 MTN LAL Ball include Efya, Kwabena Kwabena, Sherifa Gunu and No Tribe.
“There are more artistes slated for the show and we will confirm them soon,” Kojo Soboh, Events and Promotions Manager at Imajin Advertising said.
The 2013 ceremony is supported by outfits including Global Access, Special Mineral Water, Janaan Car Rental, Starbite, Guinness Ghana, Vitamilk and Cocoa Processing Company.
